Academic Goals and Program Characteristics

The IB PhD program at GSP provides students with a rigorous academic foundation to be creative minds in academia. The academic goals at GSP expand students’ scientific knowledge in international business to be the next generation of thought leaders for teaching and research positions at academic and research institutions as well as for their professional fields. This program nurtures scholar-practitioners who can provide meaningful contributions to the advancement of business knowledge and practice. GSP encourages doctoral students to dive into diverse topics with real-world implications.

Statistical Analysis

This course is designed for students who have never taken any college level of statistics. The purpose of the course is to introduce the basic concepts of statistics and statistical methods and apply them to the real world.

Research Methods for Social Sciences

This course discusses the various research methods used for the social sciences. This aims to allow students to understand the principles and (dis)advantages of different methods and to select the appropriate method for a research topic.

Seminar in Human Research Management

The objective of this seminar is to encourage students to approach a current HRM topic from a scientific perspective. Students can also improve their communication and presentation skills while discussing the work of their peers and presenting their own research project. This seminar might further prepare students to write a journal article and a dissertation.

Seminar in IB (I)

It is designed to expose doctoral students to the cutting-edge research in marketing in order to help them to define and advance their research interests. This course will offer: in-depth discussions on some important topics in marketing by experts in respective areas; tools, and methodologies required for conducting research in those areas; broad exposure to our faculty members and their proven research styles.

Seminar in Organizational Behavior

This seminar provides students an overview of the major topics in organizational behavior. The course is designed to provide a broad exposure to the field, an understanding of its central concepts, and opportunities to develop ideas for how you might contribute to this literature. This course will pursue these goals by examining a mix of theoretical and empirical research, thinking critically about the strengths and limitations, and creating a forum for you to test your own conceptual and empirical ideas

Seminar in IB (II)

The focus of this course is on understanding current theoretical and methodological approaches to various aspects of consumer behavior, as well as advancing this knowledge by developing testable hypotheses and theoretical perspectives that build on the current knowledge base.

Seminar in Research Method (I)

The purpose of the seminar is to introduce students to the most important conceptual approaches of research as well as to explore and formulate the theoretical framework for the analysis of the topic that is examined in the context of their doctoral dissertation.

Seminar in Research Method (II)

Through this research methodology seminar, students will understand the basic concept for writing a dissertation, discuss the research topic of the dissertation, and have the basics for publishing KCI-listed or SSCI-listed journal articles and writing a proposal for a dissertation.
